This book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it by day and by night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success-Joshua 1:8(KJV)

I should start by saying that many times, we leave God to handle the responsibilities we are meant to handle. I have also think that we are not just in a dispensation of grace but also in a dispensation of responsibility. In fact Jesus’ last words were those of responsibility-GO...

Today, I bring to us a scripture so ‘common’ but deep. The major emphasis on this scripture is: meditation, you, success, and prosperity. My thought today will be on one of them; MEDIDATE (Hebrew: hagah)-MUTTER, MURMUR, MOURN, IMAGINE, SPEAK, STUDY, PONDER, ROAR, UTTER, TELL...M3IS2PRUT. The Hebrew word for meditation gives us 10 synonyms as seen to which I have given the above acronym. See, we understand that the Bible was originally written using 11,280 Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek words, but the typical English translation uses only around 6,000 words meaning a great deal of some of the lessons are lost (thank God for the Holy Spirit) and so the need for the concordance. Meanwhile, the concordance is not for the pastors or ‘senior apostles’ only.lol-It’s for all. Now back to business-you see, the children of Israel were in such a critical time in their history and needed a word and so God himself gave this word to Joshua just as He is giving to us at this point. Let’s get deeper into these 10 ‘elements’ of meditation and permit me to say that you have possibly not ‘fully’ meditated on that subject/scripture until you have done the 10.

1. MUTTER: this is to speak or say something in a quiet voice that is difficult to hear. God simply said to Joshua, say my words with a quiet voice within your heart and let it well up within you until it becomes like an eruption. Say those words of healing, prosperity, comfort etc within you over and over until it becomes a ‘nature’, then you have meditated. Muttering is meditation.
2. MURMUR: ha ah! No, do not murmur about those mountains, obstacles and barriers that confront you but rather substitute those with my words. Murmur my word; it has the capacity of changing your life for good and forever. Complaining about those matters wouldn’t. That was God’s challenge to His servant Joshua as well as to us today. Get murmuring, my friend-on THE WORD. Murmuring is meditation.
3. MOURN: one of my mentors has said, if you know how to worry then you already know how to meditate cos while worry focuses on the negative, mediation does the opposite. Meaning, just ‘convert’ the mourning to good. It also means God’s word is corrective. ‘Mourn’ the word. Mourning is meditation.
4. IMAGINE: God says here, son/daughter: you want to succeed? Then imagine my word. Form a picture in your mind of what you want to see come to pass. It brings to mind Gen 11:6 where God said ‘and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do’. I declare today that whatever you imagine in the word will come through for you and yours. Imagination is meditation.
5. SPEAK: ”We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak”-2 Cor 4:13(KJV). We're not keeping this quiet, not on your life. Just like the psalmist who wrote, "I believed it, so I said it," we say what we believe-2 Cor 4:13(MSG). Speaking is meditation.
6. STUDY: this is the activity of learning or gaining knowledge. We must seek and study God’s word like He has instructed. Our hearts must be opened to learn all we can. No wonder Paul told his protégé, Timothy; “And study to present thyself before God, perfectly, a labourer who is not ashamed, one who correctly announceth the word of truth”-2 Tim 2:15(MURDOCK). Studying is meditation.
7. PONDER: think on these things...Selah is what the Psalmist say we should do. This is so very key. Joshua, ponder on my word-that was the instruction. Pondering is meditation.
8. ROAR: now this is one of best-ROAR; no wonder the violent takes it by force. Friend, don’t sit and just worry over those issues (unsettled bills, unemployment, fear, sickness etc), ROAR the word over them. Roar your way through cos the promise is --already from the Lord-the answer is potentially yours but if you want it experientially then ROAR, ROAR, and ROAR. Roaring is meditation.
9. UTTER: make a sound with your voice with God’s word until every breath you exhale becomes His word-this is very important. Uttering is meditation.
10. TELL: This is perhaps where most of us miss it-telling others about Him and is word. This is so fundamental: “But how can people call for help if they don't know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven't heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them”-Rom 10:14. Let’s go out telling others about the word today. Telling is meditation.

I’ll love to stop but remember, it’s ‘all about You’...U shall meditate, U shall observe, U will make your way prosperous, U will succeed.

JOB 22:22-24:

22. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.

23. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shall be built up; thou shall put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.

24. Then shall thou layup gold as dust and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

P.S: I have written this with an assumption that we have taken God’s word as the manual for living, if not then, SELAH.LOL

Be all YOU CAN!
